All hoods lined royal blue on wearer’s right, gold on wearer’s left.
Associates -- Hood: Edinburgh simple shape, black, lined gold/royal blue, neckband plain. Gown: standard bachelor’s pattern in black. Hat: black cloth trencher. Fellows -- Hood: Cambridge shape, black, lined gold/royal blue, the cape and neckband bound to show 0.25” gold on all edges. Gown: standard master’s pattern in black. Hat: black cloth trencher. Senior Fellows -- Hood: Cambridge shape, scarlet cloth, lined gold/royal blue, the cape and neckband bound to show 0.25” gold on all edges. Full-dress robe: Cambridge doctors’ pattern, scarlet cloth, sleeve-linings and facings of royal blue, gold cords and buttons on the turnbacks of the sleeves, and the facings bound to show 0.25” gold down the outside edge. Undress gown: standard master’s pattern in black. Hats: In full dress, a black velvet Tudor bonnet with a gold cord and tassel; in undress, a black cloth trencher. N.B. All hoods may be worn with American-style gowns if preferred, and other patterns of black gowns may be used where this is convenient. Clerical dress and service uniforms may be worn under gowns, in which case clerical hats may be worn in place of academic patterns, or service caps carried. Suppliers.
